Union Minister Emphasizes Inclusive Skill Growth for India's Future

Union Minister Shri Jayant Chaudhary inaugurated a modern Skill Development Centre at Amal College of Advanced Studies in Nilambur. Built under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK), the ₹7.92 crore facility is a major step toward empowering youth from minority-concentrated regions.

Equipped with advanced labs, seminar halls, and innovation zones, the centre aims to provide world-class training. It will support marginalized groups, particularly women and underprivileged youth, with industry-relevant skills.

Courses in AI, Coding, and Financial Skills Introduced

During the event, Shri Chaudhary also rolled out cutting-edge skilling programs focused on:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI)

  • Medical Coding

  • Digital and Financial Literacy

These courses, developed by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), aim to prepare young Indians for fast-changing job markets and tech-driven industries.

Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) Malappuram Celebrates 10 Years of Impact

The Union Minister also attended the 10th anniversary celebration of JSS Malappuram, which has trained over 50,000 people through its community-based initiatives. He called JSS a “symbol of hope and dignity” for its role in empowering grassroots communities through practical education.

Noteworthy Projects that Empower Communities

JSS Malappuram has introduced several region-specific programs, such as:

  • VIDYA: Promotes tribal literacy using a talking pen and offers health and nutrition support.

  • ULLASAM – Job with Pleasure: Offers emotional and economic support to widows, divorcees, and unmarried women over 40.

  • SPARSHAM: Equips differently-abled individuals with skills and links them to sustainable income through local markets.

Trusted Partner in Multiple Government Schemes

JSS Malappuram collaborates with NABARD, CSR partners, local bodies, and academic institutions, playing an active role in national schemes like:

  • Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY)

  • Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)

  • NULM, Nai Manzil, Nai Roshni, and others

An Integrated Tribal Development Programme started in 2021 is now benefitting 400 families, and plans are underway to expand this to coastal communities.

Recognition and Digital Integration

JSS Malappuram has earned accolades including:

  • Sakshar Bharat Award (2014)

  • UNESCO Confucius Literacy Prize (2016)

  • Tagore Literacy Award (2017)

In 2021–22, the institution scored a 98% grade, one of the highest nationwide. It is fully integrated with the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) and uses real-time monitoring and Aadhaar-enabled attendance systems.

AI Literacy and Certification Drive

The event also marked the distribution of 1,800 certificates to JSS-trained individuals and 300 certificates to trainees under the PM Vishwakarma scheme. A special highlight was the launch of AI literacy modules, in collaboration with NASSCOM, to help rural citizens embrace digital skills.

Driving the Vision of Viksit Bharat @2047

With a strong focus on inclusivity, innovation, and sustainability, the initiatives led by Shri Jayant Chaudhary are setting the foundation for a skilled and empowered India. These efforts are in line with the national goal of building Viksit Bharat by 2047, ensuring no one is left behind in the country’s development journey.
